CreativeMornings
As the former Head of Content, I was in service of the world's largest face-to-face creative community.
I built the beloved Weekly Highlights newsletter, managed all aspects of the brand and marketing, content, blog, and partnerships. I developed from end-to-end global campaigns with WordPress, Mailchimp, Adobe, Shutterstock, Wix, altMBA, Monotype, and many more.
CreativeMornings is where I learned the true definition of community.
Locally, we produced our monthly NYC event, welcoming anywhere between 300 to 600 people. I also volunteered to photograph our events, so you'll see some event shots throughout this case study.
Weekly Highlights Newsletter
I turned the Weekly Highlights newsletter into a beloved editorial product. It was a medium to curate the beautiful chaos of this brand. I highlighted talks, interviews, job opportunities, and curated links aimed to inspire and teach.
During my time, I had 17 million total reads and grew the newsletter from 100k to 250k readers. Improved open rates from 10% to 30% average.
My curation of links under "Fun Stuff to Click On" got over 20,000 clicks per email.
Own Your Content
This was a global campaign in partnership with WordPress.com.
From beginning to end, I created this multi-series campaign around the principle of owning your platform and your work.
I interviewed writers and makers of all kinds—from John Maeda, Maria Popova, Luvvie Ajayi, Jocelyn K. Glei, Paul Jarvis, and many more—about the benefits of thinking about your work and career through this first principle.
These in-depth interviews get into the mindset and the tactics that these creators have been practicing for over 10 years. In turn, they have been incredible careers and impacted many people.
All illustrations were done by my friend, Jeffrey Phillips.
